A District commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant outfit is among the two militants killed in a gunfight in southern kashmir area of Kulgam.
According to police, the district commander was identified as Shiraz Molvi and his accomplice as Yawar Bhat. Shiraz was active since 2016 and had recruited several youth in militant ranks, said Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
On Thursday police said that an unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Chawalgam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. A joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Chawalgam.
