27 test positive for jaundice in Anantnag village

The News Craving

Srinagar:

A jaundice outbreak in the Gutlibagh village of Anantnag has raised concerns, with at least 27 individuals, primarily children, testing positive for the disease.

According to an official, the screening process is ongoing, and medical teams, alongside ASHA workers, are conducting door-to-door awareness campaigns to educate residents on preventive measures. “The situation is under control, and all patients are stable and recovering well,” the official said.

Local residents, however, have attributed the outbreak to contaminated water. Officials confirmed that water samples have been collected, and the test results are awaited. (KNO)
