The News Craving
Srinagar, Sep 18: The Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday resumed operations against militants holed up in the forest area of Gadole in the Kokernag area of Anantnag district.
The operation, which entered its sixth consecutive day, was suspended earlier due to darkness.
The security forces have been using drones to keep an eye on the area and have also deployed snipers.
On Wednesday, Army Colonel, a Major, and a Deputy Superintendent of Police were killed in a gunfight with militants in the Kokernag area.
The two militants trapped in the Gadole forest are believed to be members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit.
