Former Chief Minister and PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, has voiced apprehensions over what she perceives as an increasing atmosphere of fear and arbitrary arrests in Kashmir citing the recent arrest of Sarjan Barkati’s wife as an example of what she deems as unjust government actions.
Talking to reporters on sidelines of party function in Damhal Hanjpora area of Kulgam, she said, ” The prevailing atmosphere in Kashmir is one of fear. The arrest spree continues like that of the recent arrest of Barkati Saheb’s wife.”
Mehbooba Mufti also invoked her father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, highlighting his vision for the resolution of the Kashmir issue through dialogue and diplomatic means.
