Omar Abdullah restricted from traveling: NC

The News Craving

Srinagar:

The Vice-President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Omar Abdullah, has been prevented from attending a scheduled program in Sundarbani, the party said today. The incident has sparked controversy, with the state spokesperson of the National Conference, Sarah Hayat Shah, condemning the move.

Abdullah, who was expected to participate in a program today, reportedly faced hindrances in his travel plans, purportedly due to the ST Pahari reservation bill. It’s claimed that authorities have restricted his movement, confining him to his residence in Jammu and denying him the opportunity to travel to Sunderbani.

Expressing concern over the situation, Sarah Hayat Shah raised questions about the democratic principles being upheld in the region. ” JKNC Vice-President @OmarAbdullah was supposed to go to Sundarbani for a programme today. Using the ST Pahadi reservation bill as an excuse they’ve locked him in his home in Jammu & are not letting him travel. Where is the democracy?” she tweeted.
