8 people arrested for illegally producing liquor at brick kiln in Anantnag

In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor production, Anantnag Police have successfully dismantled a major illicit operation, seizing a large quantity of country-made liquor. The operation, conducted during a routine inspection, took place at Brick Kiln ‘Jan Thajiwara’, owned by Tanveer Ahmad.

According to a police spokesperson, officers discovered a substantial stockpile of country-made liquor and the equipment used for its production. The raid led to the apprehension of eight individuals involved in the illicit trade.

In addition to the liquor, police confiscated ₹13,600, believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal alcohol. A case has been filed under relevant legal sections, and the investigation is ongoing to uncover more details and potential connections related to the operation.

The Anantnag Police continue to intensify efforts to combat illegal liquor trade and ensure public safety, police said.
