After his victory in the Charar-I-Sharief constituency, former Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rather and senior National Conference (JKNC) leader expressed optimism for the restoration of statehood in the region.
Rather, won the assembly seat for the 7th time, by a margin of 11,496 votes, defeating PDP’s Ghulam Nabi Lone.
“We have great hope for the Prime Minister of India that he will restore statehood very soon,” Rather stated after the election results were announced.
