Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Chaudhary Zulfikar Ali has called for the creation of a separate Union Territory (UT) for the Rajouri and Poonch districts. A video of Ali’s speech, which has since gone viral, shows him urging the people of the region to unite and fight for the demand.
Ali, a prominent leader in the region and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accused regional political parties of ignoring the needs and aspirations of Rajouri and Poonch. In the video, he passionately declares, “We do not want to stay with anyone anymore; it is time to start our own struggle.”
He emphasized that the people of Rajouri and Poonch have been neglected for too long and that the time has come for them to assert their rights and demand separate administrative status.
