Omar Abdullah, sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, presided over his government’s inaugural cabinet meeting today.

National Conference (NC) vice president took his oath on Tuesday in a ceremony overseen by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. During the meeting, key administrative issues were discussed, and the government’s immediate priorities were outlined.

The newly formed cabinet focused on addressing governance challenges, streamlining administrative processes, resolving public grievances, and promoting transparency within the bureaucracy. They also reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects.

The top priorities for the Abdullah-led government include strengthening infrastructure, improving healthcare and education, and boosting employment opportunities across the region.

Prior to the meeting, he held consultations with secretaries and key officers at the Civil Secretariat to ensure effective coordination in the administration.
