A large-scale search operation has been initiated by security forces in the dense forests of Bandipora’s Panar area in North Kashmir after suspected militants fired on troops.
The incident occurred on the evening of November 1 when soldiers spotted suspicious movement in the forest. Upon challenging the individuals, the suspects opened fire on the troops before fleeing into the woods.
The Army’s Chinar Corps shared details on X (formerly Twitter), stating that troops swiftly responded to the sudden assault. Additional forces were mobilized afterward to support a thorough search operation aimed at locating the suspects.
During the operation, two pithu bags, often used by militants to transport supplies, were recovered, indicating a possible militant presence.
