A truck driver lost his life, and the conductor sustained injuries when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge at Margan Top in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
According to officials, the truck, loaded with bricks and traveling from Anantnag to Warwan, lost control and veered off the road, falling into the gorge.
Local residents and police swiftly responded to the scene, managing to rescue both occupants from the wreckage. The injured individuals were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. The driver was declared dead on arrival, while the conductor is undergoing treatment.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. (GNS)
