The News Craving
Srinagar:
A severe shortage of textbooks for students prescribed by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has left students across Kashmir struggling to continue their studies effectively.
Parents said that the textbooks remain unavailable in both local markets and bookstores. Neither JKBOSE stalls nor private bookshops have been able to provide these essential materials, causing significant challenges for families trying to support their children’s education.
“The absence of these textbooks has placed enormous pressure on students. This disruption threatens to hinder their learning progress and deepen existing educational inequalities,” said concerned parents.
They have called on the authorities to intervene urgently. Parents are appealing to the Education Department and JKBOSE to resolve the issue promptly and ensure the timely availability of textbooks to avoid further setbacks to students’ education.
