Srinagar:
The Open Merit Students Association (OMSA) J&K has raised concerns over the delay in the issuance of an official statement from the National Conference (NC) regarding assurances made during their recent meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The OMSA delegation met with the Chief Minister to discuss the resolution of the reservation policy issue. It said the CM committed to resolving the matter within six months and assured them that an official statement outlining this commitment would be released.
“We emphasized the need for an official statement during our meeting with the CM. He agreed and assured us that the statement would be issued,” OMSA said.
The delegation also followed up with senior NC leader Ruhullah Mehdi, who similarly assured them that the statement would be released from the party office by the evening of the meeting.
However, 24 hours later, the OMSA said no such statement has been issued,” raising doubts about the commitment’s sincerity.”
“This delay is concerning, and we urge the NC to uphold its promises by releasing the statement as assured,”OMSA added.
