Abdul Gani Vakil, Senior Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC), has urged the central government to implement Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) before the upcoming parliamentary elections in the region. Vakil emphasized the significance of addressing critical public concerns ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
Among the key issues highlighted by Vakil are the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and the provision of a special employment package aimed at addressing the plight of unemployed youth.
Furthermore, Vakil underscored the importance of rejuvenating the fruit industry, a vital sector of the region’s economy, which has been grappling with various challenges. Additionally, he called for the regularization of daily wage workers, emphasizing the need to address their long-standing grievances before the elections.
