The Charar-i-Sharief area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district descended into a pall of gloom over the death of a young woman last night.
The woman, Rifat Ara wife of Zahoor Ahmad Dar, a social activist died yesterday at their home at Talab Kalan area of the town. Her death was widely mourned and the family has informed that her Rasm-e-Charum will be observed on Sunday at 10 am at the graveyard in Sarband area of Charar-i-Sharief.
The family informed that the woman suffered a pregnancy related complication and was admitted at the Lalla Ded hospital in Srinagar, where doctors conducted a surgery and removed her two-months old dead baby. However, the woman was discharged from the hospital and within two days breathed her last yesterday.
Expressing his condolences with the bereaved family, chief cleric of Jama Masjid Charar-i-Sharief , Mirwaiz Amirudin, prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
The death was also condoled by the Bar Association Charar-i-Sharief and the several other social figures of the historic town.
In his condolence message, Chairman of Holy Home School, Meer Ali Mohammad, also expressed his condolences with the bereaved family.
A prayer meeting was also held at Charar-i-Sharief grand mosque as well as the Khanqah in Pakerpora town of the Budgam district to pray for the peace of the departed soul.
