CIK conducts raids against newly formed militant group, Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim

The News Craving

Srinagar:

In a significant operation, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a series of coordinated raids across multiple districts in the Kashmir Valley. The raids were aimed at dismantling the recruitment network of the newly formed militant group, Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim (TLM), believed to be an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) organization, according to media reports.

The large-scale operation targeted key areas including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama. The swift actions of the CIK led to the disruption of a recruitment module allegedly organized by a Pakistani handler, operating under the alias ‘@ Baba Hamas.’

Further investigations are underway to uncover the group’s wider connections, funding sources, and overall objectives. Official sources indicate that the dismantled recruitment module is one of several initiatives aimed at curbing militancy in the region.
