Srinagar:
The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday conducted raids at District Jail Mattan in Anantnag and two villages in the Kulgam district.
A senior official confirmed that the CIK has been conducting searches across multiple locations in South Kashmir. “CIK teams arrived at District Jail Mattan in Anantnag and are expected to search various blocks and barracks within the jail premises. This operation is linked to an ongoing investigation into a militancy-related case, during which technical evidence was discovered inside the jail,” the official stated.
The CIK teams also carried out raids in the villages of Sonigam and Chawalgam in Kulgam district.
The raids were conducted under search warrants issued by a competent court, the official added. (KNO)
