Police have frozen the property of a notorious drug smuggler couple under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Bandipora district.
The property worth Rs 56.60 lakh belonging to two notorious drug smugglers identified as Khursheed Ahmad Waza and his wife Posha Begum, a resident of Ward No. 5 Bandipora, was frozen by the police.
” Property worth 56 Lakh & 60 Thousand belonging to two notorious drug smugglers namely Khursheed Ahmad Waza S/o GH Ahmad Waza & his wife Posha Begum W/o Khursheed Ahmad Waza R/o Ward No.05 Bandipora freezed,” Police posted on X.
“Freezed u/s 68F(2) of NDPS Act by the Competent Authority & Admin, SAFEM (New Delhi). All these assets were illegally acquired through the sale of narcotic drugs.The duo are presently booked under PIT NDPS and lodged at KotBalwal Jammu and Central Jail Srinagar. (2/2),” it added.
