A building of Darul Uloom was demolished in Chewa Kalan village of Pulwama district last night. The demolition was carried out by the Revenue authorities with the assistance of police on the recommendations of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The building was damaged in an encounter in March 2022, in which two militants were killed. The NIA had arrested administrators of the Darul Uloom after the encounter.
The NIA arrested administrators of the Darul Uloom, who are still under custody. The three-room building, which was damaged in the encounter, was not used since last year.
Revenue authorities, assisted by police, demolished the remaining structure of the building last night.
