In an incident in the Zonimar area of Srinagar, a woman named Mehvish was discovered dead at her in-laws’ residence. The circumstances surrounding her demise have sparked controversy, with her family vehemently alleging foul play while her in-laws maintain she took her own life.
According to family members, Mehvish’s sudden demise was not a result of suicide as claimed by her in-laws. They assert that she was murdered, citing their unsuccessful attempts to reach her prior to the tragic discovery. “Her in-laws are claiming she died by suicide, but they have murdered her. We demand a thorough probe into the matter,” one family member stated.
In response to the situation, authorities have taken action, with a police official confirming the registration of an FIR under relevant sections of the law. An investigation into the incident is currently underway, including efforts to determine the cause of Mehvish’s untimely death.
