Srinagar, Sep 18:

A 3-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in the Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

The incident took place in the Rajwar area of Handwara when the boy was playing outside his house.

The leopard suddenly attacked the boy, Burhan Ahmad, son of Mohammad Kamal Mir of Marchwali Nichhama, and dragged him away. The boy’s family chased the leopard and tried to save their son, but it was too late.

The boy was rushed to a nearby health facility, but he succumbed to his injuries.

The forest department has launched a search operation to track down the leopard.

This is the second leopard attack in the Handwara area in the past month. In August, a 10-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in the same village.

The leopard attacks have created panic among the residents of the area. They have demanded that the forest department take steps to protect them from the leopards.
