FIR registered in Pulwama over woman’s death at her son-in-law’s house

A woman died on Monday evening after reportedly collapsing in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Police identified the deceased as Khurshi Begum, wife of Abdul Rehman Dar and a resident of Looswani. She was brought to the District Hospital Pulwama, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at the house of Khurshi’s married daughter, where an argument allegedly broke out between her daughter and son-in-law. When Khurshi intervened to pacify the situation, her son-in-law, Mohammad Aslam Mir of Gudoora, allegedly pushed her, causing her to collapse.

Rafeeqa Banu, the daughter of the deceased, filed a formal complaint against her husband. An FIR (257/2024) under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigations are underway, the statement added.
