Flights resume in Iran after Israeli attack successfully thwarted

The News Craving

Srinagar:

Iranian air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized multiple Israeli attacks targeting military sites near Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces. According to Iranian authorities, these actions prevented any casualties or damage, marking a notable defense success amid ongoing tensions.

Residents reported loud explosions in Tehran’s outskirts, attributed to the interception operations. Security sources stated that these measures were taken in response to Israeli drone and missile strikes targeting critical facilities. “The air defense forces were successful in intercepting the adversarial targets, and no critical facilities were impacted,” said a source from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

Footage circulating online shows the night sky around Tehran lit up as missiles intercepted the incoming threats.

As a precaution, Iran temporarily suspended flights from Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports, with flights resuming at 9:00 a.m. local time, as confirmed by Civil Aviation Organization spokesperson Ja’far Yazerlou. He reassured that robust safety protocols are in place following the incident.

The Israeli military has since claimed responsibility for the strikes, citing self-defense against Iranian missile threats. However, Iranian officials stressed that their air defense systems fully thwarted the attacks with zero damage, reaffirming the country’s preparedness to protect its sovereignty.

“The Islamic Republic remains vigilant and resolute in safeguarding its national security against any foreign threats.”
