Govt constitutes committee for inspection of road works for Amarnath Yatra

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has sanctioned the formation of a committee to oversee the inspection of works executed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for the maintenance and improvement of critical infrastructure for the Amarnath Yatra.

The committee is tasked with inspecting the maintenance of Class 9 roads from Ranga Morh to Domail, as well as foot tracks from Domail and Chandanwari to the Shri Amarnath Ji Holy Cave on both the Pahalgam and Baltal axes.

  1. Director of Tourism, Kashmir – Chairman
  2. Additional Secretary to Government, Tourism Department – Member
  3. Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) Division Central – Member
  4. Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) Division South – Member
  5. Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority (for Pahalgam Axis) – Member
  6. Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority (for Baltal Axis) – Member
  7. Representative of BRO – Member
  8. Executive Engineer, PW(R&B) Pahalgam (for Pahalgam Axis) – Member
  9. Executive Engineer, PW(R&B) Kangan (for Baltal Axis) – Member

Terms of Reference:

The committee is mandated to inspect and report on the execution of works by the BRO, ensuring that they comply with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the tendered documents.
