Baramulla Police have busted a human trafficking racket operating in Ushkara, Baramulla. Two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case, bringing the total number of arrests to four.
The operation has resulted in the rescue of three more minor females, adding to the previous tally of seven rescued victims.
“During the course of further investigation into case FIR No. 173/2024, registered under relevant sections of the law at PS Baramulla, it was revealed that Ghulam Mohammad Khan, son of Abdul Rehman and resident of Narbal, along with Manzoor Ahmad Shah, son of Gulam Mohammad and resident of Janbazpora, were also implicated in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the Union Territory,” said a spokesperson for the police.
The spokesperson added that a team from Police Station Baramulla, led by the SHO PS Baramulla and supervised by DySP Headquarters Baramulla, apprehended the suspects. They were subsequently taken to Police Station Baramulla. During the operation, three minor girls, originally from Rohingya, Burma, were rescued.
