Iconic Chinarbagh area of Chadoora that derived its name due to presence of large number of Chinar trees and is believed to be a favourite haunt of Mughals has been reduced to a state of neglect. Locals said that hospital authorities and other government departments burn the leaves of the tree which caused many fire incidents.
Local fire service staff had to be rushed in several times to douse the fire. In the Sub District Hospital premises itself fire engulfing Chinar trees was reported at least twice in last few months while a one incident of fire was also reported from inside the hospital premises earlier this year.
