J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina loses from Nowshera

JK BJP President Ravinder Raina has lost the Nowshera seat to National Conference (NC) candidate Surinder Choudhary in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on Tuesday. While the BJP secured a record 29 seats in the election, Raina was unable to hold onto his Nowshera constituency in Rajouri district. He received 27,250 votes, losing to Choudhary by a margin of 7,819 votes, according to data from the Election Commission.

Choudhary won the seat with 35,069 votes.

“I have accepted the people’s verdict and thank them for their support,” Raina was quoted by media as saying.

Raina acknowledged the setback in Nowshera but emphasized the party’s overall success, noting that the BJP had also secured the highest vote share in Jammu and Kashmir.
