AMU student traced as family holds protest in Sopore

The family members and relatives of a student from Sopore, who went missing at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), on Saturday morning staged a massive protest, seeking whereabouts of their missing son.

The family members and relatives of Masroor Abbas Mir, a 10th standard student at AMU, who went missing three days ago held a massive protest demonstration, seeking his whereabouts.

The protestors sought intervention of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor to ensure the safety and return of their son.

Masroor Abbas Mir of Bohripora had left his hostel at 8 am for the school on Thursday, but did not reach there.

“We tried to seek his whereabouts from his colleagues and school authorities but nobody is aware where he is,” a family member said.

The family has also lodged a missing report in the concerned police station. Later an official said that Masroor was traced by the police at railway station Sopore today. He added they have informed his family members and right now he was with the police for questioning. (KNO)
