On Thursday, Omar Abdullah was unanimously elected as the leader of the National Conference (NC) legislature party, according to party president Farooq Abdullah.
“A meeting of the legislature party was held, and all members unanimously chose Omar Abdullah as their leader,” Farooq Abdullah said.
He also mentioned that a meeting with the pre-poll alliance partners would take place on Friday to advance the process of forming the government.
Omar Abdullah expressed his gratitude to the NC legislators for electing him as their leader, allowing him to stake a claim to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“A decision has been made, and I am deeply thankful to the NC legislators for placing their trust in me, giving me the opportunity to move forward with the process of government formation,” Omar Abdullah told reporters after his election as the leader of the legislature party.
