The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its candidates for three key segments in the Kashmir division. Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is set to contest from the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, while Youth President Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra will represent the party in Srinagar, and former Member of Parliament Fayaz Ahmad Mir will contest from Baramulla.
The party’s Parliamentary Board formally announced the candidatures, marking Mehbooba Mufti’s bid for Anantnag-Pir Panchal, Parra’s candidacy for Central Kashmir, and Mir’s nomination for the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, as per reports.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has nominated Mian Altaf and Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party announced name of Zaffar Iqbal Manhas for the Anantnag-Rajouri segment.
For the Srinagar segment Mohammad Ashraf Mir was nominated by the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party.
For the Baramulla segment, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference has put forth Sajad Gani Lone as its candidate. With the announcement of Mir Fayaz and anticipation of the National Conference candidate, a fierce electoral battle seems imminent on this strategic seat. (GNS)
