A PDD inspector died due to electric shock in the Parimpora area of Srinagar while carrying out repair work, officials said on Wednesday.
Quoting an official, KNO reported that the PDD inspector, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad from Chattabal, was electrocuted during repair work.
He was immediately rushed to SMHS hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further investigation has been initiated, he stated.
Meanwhile, locals in the area have demanded an investigation into the incident, questioning why the transmission line was not disconnected before the employee began the repair work—(KNO)
