Rich tributes paid to woman dervish at Sufi event in Pulwama

A Sufi poetic and musical event was held in Dangerpora, Pulwama, commemorating the revered Sufi dervish, Ash Moaj.

The event was presided over by her son and esteemed Sufi poet Raheem Shah, with proceedings conducted by noted writer Inayat Gul.

The event drew notable contributions from various speakers, including Ali Ahsan and Haji Ghulam Mohammad, who shared thoughts on Ash Moaj’s enduring legacy.

A highlight of the evening was the mesmerizing rendition of Raheem Shah’s poetry by Abdul Rashid Dar, which resonated deeply with the audience. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mohammad Yusuf Baba and other dignitaries, further enriching the cultural significance of the event.

The event not only celebrated the spiritual depth of Sufi traditions but also served as a platform for fostering unity and appreciation for Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage.

Mahak Mohiuddin made a heartfelt rendition of Naat, while Ayesha Ji eloquently recited Kalam Rahim Sahib, captivating listeners.

The event was jointly organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Langauge and Kashmiri Markazi Aadab Wa Saqafat.
