Search operations resumed on Friday morning in the Botapathri area of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, where militants attacked an army vehicle last night, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and two porters.
Two Indian Army soldiers and two civilian porters lost their lives after militants targeted a military vehicle in the area on Thursday evening. Another soldier and a porter were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment.
In a post on X, the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said that a brief firefight took place between the Indian Army and militants in the general area of Butapathri, Baramulla. “During the engagement, two soldiers and two porters sustained injuries and have been evacuated for medical care.”
In a subsequent update, the Chinar Corps added, “During the firefight, two soldiers and two porters suffered injuries and have been evacuated for medical attention. The operation remains in progress.”
Earlier, on October 20, a doctor and six construction workers were killed when militants attacked a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in the Ganderbal district.
