Snowfall halts smart city bus operations in Srinagar

The News Craving

Srinagar:

Heavy snowfall has disrupted the operation of Smart City buses in Srinagar, leaving the public without transportation across the city and its outskirts.

According to officials from Srinagar Smart City Limited, the Pantha Chowk charging station experienced a power outage due to the overnight snowfall. This prevented the buses from being recharged and put into service.

“With the situation now stabilizing, we have managed to charge a few buses and expect them to be operational by evening,” said an official spokesperson.

The snowfall has also caused widespread disruptions, including the cancellation of all flights and the closure of major roads.
