Trafficking victim saved in Bandipora

The Bandipora police in north Kashmir successfully rescued a woman from Bihar who had fallen prey to human trafficking. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was illegally sold to an individual identified as Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad, resident of Banyari Ajas.

An official said that that cognizance has been taken under the relevant sections of law in PS Sumbal.

‘Bandipora police rescued a lady victim of human trafficking belonging to Bihar, illegally sold to one person namely Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh S/o Nazir Ahmad R/o Banyari Ajas. Cognizance taken under the relevant sections of law in PS Sumbal.” Bandipora police said in a post on ‘X’.
