United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdallah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met and held bilateral talks Tuesday, the Syrian presidency said in a statement. The visit is the first by a high-ranking Emirati official since the beginning of the Syrian civil war in 2011.
