Pall of gloom descended on the family of a civilian who died due to cardiac arrest during a gunfight in the Kadder area of Kulgam. The family of civilian lived few kilometres away from gunfight site. The Kadder area of Kulgam remained shut during the day after the gunfight between security forces and militants. One civilian died due to cardiac arrest during the gunfight while 5 militants including a top commander were killed in the encounter. 2 soldiers also sustained injuries.

With the onset of a severe cold wave, the demand for warm clothing has seen a spike across Kashmir. As temperatures continue to remain several degrees below freezing point, local markets are witnessing an increase in the sale of winter essentials, including woolens, thermal wear, and blankets. Kashmir is currently experiencing a prolonged cold spell, with temperatures dropping well below zero. On Monday, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.4 degrees Celsius, similar to the previous night, while Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 4 degrees Celsius, a slight dip from the night before.
