Cop guarding BJP member, his associate flee with weapons; trooper ends life in Kashmir

A policeman deployed on the guard duty of a BJP worker and his associate have gone missing while a trooper ended life in Northern Kashmir  area of Kupwara.
Officials said the Personal Security Officer of  a BJP activist and his “associate” are missing since last night in Kupwara. A manhunt was underway to trace them.
During intervening night of December 12 and 13, Saqib Ahmad Tantry (SPO) son of Sanaullah Tantry of Bohipora, deployed as PSO with BJP activist Abdul Rashid Zargar fled with two weapons. The policeman’s associate Arif Ahmad son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, also resident of Bohipora Kupwara, is also missing.
Saqib is missing since he  left his house, a police official told GNS..       The BJP member was identified as Rashid Zargar of Lolab, who was housed along with other protected persons in PWD building at Salkoot. 
Meanwhile a  trooper ended his life by shooting himself dead inside a camp in Kupwara.  The Havildar rank armyman identified as Shinde Sandeep Arjun was posted at Drangyari Chowkibal. He  shot himself with service rifle at around 4:30 a.m and was shifted to army hospital in Srinagar but succumbed to the injuries.
The 38-year-old army man’s reason for suicide was not  said immediately known while a case has been registered in this regard and further investigations taken up.
