The News Craving
Srinagar:
In response to former National Conference (NC) MLA and now BJP leader Davinder Singh Rana’s recent assertion that the NC sought an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014, Sara Hayat Shah, additional spokesperson for the NC, vehemently refuted the claim, asserting that the party has never entertained the idea of aligning with the BJP.
Instead, Shah revealed that the NC had offered unconditional support to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014 to prevent the BJP from coming to power.
“These allegations of an alliance with the BJP are entirely fabricated. In reality, the NC extended unconditional support to the PDP in 2014, with the primary aim of keeping the BJP out of power,” Shah asserted in a post on X.
She labeled Rana’s claims as baseless and politically motivated.
“Rana’s assertions lack credibility and are clearly aimed at dividing the voters in Kashmir and sow confusion ahead of polls as policy of propaganda. His past statements, including those made in a convention in 2017 where he accused the BJP of having nefarious designs, contradict his recent claims,” Shah stated.
Furthermore, Shah pointed out the ongoing cases under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), emphasizing that these cases were still registered.
